Module 03 - Editing Video

Overview

Panopto makes it easy to perform basic editing tasks to clean up your recordings and create a more polished video. Editing in Panopto is "non-destructive," so you can later revert to the original recording.

Common editing tasks

• Cleaning up a completed recording before it is shared by cutting unwanted sections such as dead space at the beginning and end of the video, and any "ums" and "ahs."
•  Importing automatic closed captions, which often need some editing for accuracy. (We recommend adding captions to support comprehension, retention, and accessibility).

Module Objectives

In this module, you will be introduced to video and caption editing processes. Upon completion of this module, you will be able to:

• Import and edit automatic captions
• Trim and cut videos using the Panopto editor
