Import and Edit Automatic Captions

To import and edit automatic captions for an existing Panopto recording, follow these steps:

Hover over the chosen recording (found in your Panopto folder, your playlist, or Files shared with me) to find the Edit button. 

  • Click Edit as shown below.

  • The Panopto editor will open in a new tab.
  • Click on Captions in the navigation menu.
  • From the Import captions drop down menu, select Import automatic captions.

  • Captions are time-stamped and appear to the left of the video.
  • Edit captions by clicking in the text box and editing the text.

  • Remember to always save your edits by clicking Apply.
