Additional Session Preparation

At least 30 minutes before the session:

  • Load your presentation and any resources
  • Clear your screen
    • Hide or close any applications or private documents not needed for the session (especially important if screen sharing)
  • Join the session at least 10 minutes early to run setting checks to ensure microphone, video, and audio work.
  • Mute your audio/mic before starting the session (especially if participants are permitted to join early)
  • Confirm you have given co-hosts right to any co-presenter and/or guest speaker
  • Display the Welcome message
  • Instructions to students to check their settings and equipment as they join

As the session begins:

  • Allow five minutes for late arrivals and for attendees to settle in
  • Greet participants via chat or audio as they join the session
  • Remind participants that the session will be recorded and that the recording may be viewed by students who won't have attended the session
  • Start recording
  • Guide students throughout the session by reminding them how they can interact

At end of session:

  • End the recording
  • Save a copy of the chat (if necessary)

After the session:

  • Remind students that session recordings are available and where to find them
