Intro to Content Options
How do you organize your course so that content is easy for students to find?
Canvas has 3 basics building blocks for you to use:
- Files are any documents, videos, images, or other files you upload to your course. (Learn more about Files Links to an external site.)
- Pages are individual content pages created by you; they can include any combination of text, images, and files (documents, videos, etc.). (Learn more about Pages Links to an external site.)
- Modules allow you to organize pages, files, and all other course items (including assignments and quizzes) within a logical structure. (Learn more about Modules Links to an external site.)
Understanding Modules and Pages
We recommend organizing your course into Modules. This is the most logical, comprehensive ways to tell students what they have to do to complete the course. Pages are an excellent option when you want to provide additional context.
