Go Mobile
Instructors and students may access Canvas from a mobile device, and while Canvas can be accessed via a mobile web browser, it is not officially supported. For the best user experience, we recommend using the free Canvas Teacher or Canvas Student apps, available for iOS and Android.
Canvas Teacher app
Allows instructors to manage their courses on mobile devices. Provides access to the SpeedGrader tool as well as the Gradebook. Review the Canvas Guides below for more information on using the Canvas Teacher app.

Canvas Student app
Allows students to view course content, upload submissions and view grade information. Review the Canvas Guides below for more information on using the Canvas Student app.

Download and set up the apps
To set up the Canvas Teacher or Canvas Student app for the first time, follow these steps:
- Download the Canvas Teacher app or the Canvas Student app from the Play Store on Android or the App Store on iOS devices.
- Open the app.
- Once you have opened the app, you will be presented with a page to search for your school. Tap "Find Your School."
- Enter "Northwestern" and hit the arrow to continue. This will prompt you to enter you NetID.
- You must authorize that you are allowing Canvas to access your account.
- Log in and you'll see your list of courses.
