Attendance
The Canvas Attendance tool includes the full roster of students along with options for entering present, absent, or late, as well as custom badges for participation or other behaviors.
Attendance includes a general calendar and does not correspond with actual course meeting dates or times. Instructors will simply click on a given date and enter attendance.
Save time by selecting the option to mark all students present, then change the status of specific students to absent or late as needed.
Using Attendance automatically creates a 100 point assignment
Once the attendance tool has been enabled, an assignment and gradebook column worth 100 points will automatically be created called "Roll Call Attendance". Simply edit the assignment and change the points value to zero (or unpublish the assignment) to disable this behavior. Deleting the assignment altogether may erase the attendance information you have entered.
