Learning To Use Canvas

Where do I start?

This tutorial will cover the basics of setting up a Canvas course site by going through six modules. Videos, links to Canvas support and text are combined to provide the information to be easily understood. Move through the modules in order, or quickly find your desired topic.

To start the tutorial, select Modules from the left-side menu, otherwise known as the Course Navigation menu Links to an external site..

A Quick Introduction to Canvas

Canvas is a Learning Management System (LMS) used by over 3,000 educational institutions around the world. Canvas is owned by company called Instructure. At Northwestern University, a course sites provide an online space for instructors and students to share information. Instructors can upload their syllabi, link to reading material, provide videos of instruction, post assignments, discussion boards and much more.
