Set Missing and Late Work Settings

The gradebook allows instructors to set grading rules for late and missing submissions. These include automatic deductions or setting a default grade for past-due submissions.


To access these options from the gradebook, click on the gear icon in the upper right and select the Late Policies tab.


Automatically apply grade for missing submissions

This option allows instructors to assign a grade percentage to missing submissions, such as zero percent. Once the due date has passed, this grade will be entered automatically for any missing submissions.

Automatically apply deduction to late submissions

This option allows instructors to assign a deduction to missing submissions, such as a 10% grade reduction for every day an assignment remains past due. Instructors can also cap the deductions through the lowest possible grade percent option.
