Students who Require Extra Time or Attempts

Instructors will often have individual students who require extra time or extra attempts on quizzes created in Canvas. If the quiz is originally created to be untimed or has multiple attempts, these settings will not be available.

Use the following settings to add extra time or extra attempts for a quiz. 

STEP 1: Create the quiz and click Save and Publish.  Open the Quiz page and click on Moderate this Quiz.

STEP 2: Select the student you want to Moderate. Click the pencil icon to edit.

STEP 3: Add an extra attempt or add extra time. If the quiz is locked because of dates you may need to check the Manually unlock the quiz for the next attempt box.

Click Save when you have finished.
